Paul earned his PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Alberta.

Paul helps faculty members excel in all facets of their work. He runs workshops on student engagement and learning-centred teaching, and he directs the National Great Teachers Seminar in the Canadian Rockies.  


Cherese earned her PhD in Educational Leadership at Clemson University.

Cherese conducts research and coordinates programs centered on college access and readiness, and student retention. She has worked in higher education for over a decade in numerous areas that include academic affairs, student affairs, and diversity.  


Eliza Sanders holds a PhD in English literature from the University of Iowa.

Eliza's book, Genres of Doubt, was published in 2017 by McFarland. Her first job after graduation was at The Field Museum in Chicago. Eliza loves to advise current graduate students and newly-minted PhDs about the non-academic job search!

Monica earned her PhD in Educational Policy from Michigan State University.

Monica is a public servant who focuses professionally and personally on helping people achieve their goals through education, training, and development. She has worked as a teacher, a librarian, and a college instructor. She is also a certified yoga teacher and an aspiring novelist.  

James is ABD in International Relations Theory at the University of Toronto.

James's first government job was a contract position, but it quickly turned into a full-time role. He is still interested in the same topics that led him to pursue an academic career. In his current career, he implements his graduate studies in practical ways.  

Uzma received her PhD in cognitive neuroimaging from University of York (UK).

Uzma is a cognitive neuroscientist with international experience in scientific research management including technology transfer and science strategy. In her current position, Uzma implements the training strategy for the next generation of scientific leaders.

Raj earned his PhD in bio-organic chemistry from the University of Toronto.

Raj leads a team of energetic and ambitious sales reps, selling a full suite of solutions to small- and medium-sized businesses across Canada. In sales, Raj has found rapid career advancement and a universally applicable set of skills ... and a great income! 


Yeesheen earned her PhD in literature from the University of California, San Diego.

Yeesheen now works at a software company. She leads an intrepid team of writers who design and deliver industry-defining customer education. She enjoys the fast pace of the startup world, where she is leveraging her academic skill set, learning new competencies, and growing in her career.

Chris is a recent PhD graduate in chemical engineering at Dalhousie University.

Chris spent five years working in industry as a technical consultant and software developer before leaving to finish his PhD work in fire and explosion safety. During his PhD he created a website focused on his academic field, which he's since turned into a research company.

Mahadeo earned his PhD in medical biophysics from the University of Toronto.

Mahadeo serves as the principal investigator for national projects to understand the student experience for persons with disabilities, and to examine the landscape of accessibility within Canadian postsecondary education.  

Maura earned her PhD from the University of California, Irvine.

In addition to her day job, Maura is a historian of modern China. Her work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. She is co-author of China in the 21st Century: What Everyone Needs to Know (3rd ed).

Kevin completed his PhD at Texas A&M in the field of Behavioral Neuroscience in 2011.

After his postdoc, Kevin took a staff scientist position at a spinal cord injury lab. When that abruptly shut down in 2015, he switched careers. Kevin is now IRB Specialist at a public hospital system in the United States.
